Black-box Testing:
Our Black-box Testing permits minimal knowledge and data of the target system to the PC-Labs Cyber Security Red Team. Black-box testing is also called “external testing” and symbolizes the tester not being able to see the inner workings of the target system. The tester thus ONLY tests the end user experience and does not permit the tester to see the inner workings of the software, system or app. Additionally, Black-box testing simulates an actual external attacker.
Gray-box Testing:
Our Gray-box Testing permits knowledge and data to the tester somewhere in between the amount given for white and black-box testing. This kind of testing simulates actual users of the application and/or network with various permission levels.

Different organizations have different security and compliance needs, to address this our team offers different penetration testing offerings. Each type of test has a different color which represents the level of knowledge & access granted to our pentesters at the beginning of an assignment.

Testing Type Offerings:
White-box Testing
Our White-box Testing is a clean, open structural type of test that is based on the inner workings of an app or system. It is performed with a high level of internal knowledge and permissions. With White-box testing, a test is performed based on an app or systems internal coding and infrastructure. The test focuses on strengthening security, the flow of inputs and outputs, and improving the design and usability of the code. It is also called “glass box testing” because it permits the tester with the highest level of data, knowledge & access. Moreover, White-box testing simulates insider threats and internal lateral movements.
